Legal Information

1. Acceptance & Governing Law

By accessing Nexus, you agree to these Terms and the laws of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, under the jurisdiction of the courts of NSW. These terms apply globally to all users. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For minor or clarifying changes, we will update the Terms on this page and the "Last Updated" date. For material changes — such as modifications to your rights, data handling, or payment terms — we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Material changes require your continued use of the service after the effective date to constitute acceptance. If you do not agree with a material change, you may close your account before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

3. Eligibility & Age Restriction

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or use Nexus. We do not offer an under-16 sign-up path. At sign-up we ask you to confirm you meet this age requirement; we record that confirmation and the age threshold, but we never collect your date of birth. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and if we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.

4. Severability

You agree that each of these terms is reasonable for the protection of our legitimate business interests. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

5. Intellectual Property

Wizards of the Coast: Nexus is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. ©Wizards of the Coast LLC.

Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you create in Nexus, including your decklists and deck names and the game data you generate or contribute (match results, in-game actions, statistics, and the like). To operate and improve the service, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display, use, adapt, and transform that content, including combining it with other contributions to produce aggregate statistics, meta-reports, share cards, and game recaps. This does not transfer ownership to us, and we do not sell your personal content. For data that has been aggregated or anonymised so it can no longer be linked to you, this licence continues after you delete your account, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

6. User Conduct

To keep the community healthy, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access our data.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Post content that is illegal, defamatory, or harassing.

7. Game Recording & Other Participants

Nexus allows registered users to record game data, including information about other participants who may or may not have Nexus accounts. By recording a game, you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for informing other participants that game data is being recorded.
  • Game data may include participant names or identifiers, commander selections, match outcomes, and in-game actions.
  • Non-registered participants whose data appears in game records may contact us at [email protected] to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data.

We process data about non-registered participants on the basis of legitimate interest (maintaining accurate game records for registered users). See our Privacy Policy for full details on how this data is handled.

8. Account Termination & Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may also delete your account at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your account and personal data are removed when you confirm, and any residual copies in backups are purged within 14 days. Game records you took part in are kept for the other participants with your identity replaced by an anonymous label, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Liability & Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those consumer guarantees. For international users, to the extent permitted by applicable local law, we provide the service "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nexus is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nexus, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Third-Party Services & Payments

Nexus may integrate with third-party services (e.g., authentication providers or external card databases) or payment processors for optional premium features. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the actions, availability, or content of these external providers.

Use of any third-party integration is always optional. The core functionality of Nexus does not depend on any external service.

12. Additional Terms

Certain features or services offered through Nexus — including any future paid services, beta programmes, or community features — may be subject to additional terms presented to you at the point of access. Those additional terms form part of these Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and any additional terms, the additional terms will prevail for that specific feature or service.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Nexus will be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Before commencing legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. If informal resolution is unsuccessful within 30 days, either party may pursue formal proceedings in the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

14. Open Source & Third-Party Notices
